UN chief stresses at G-20 more support for education, a post-2015 development agenda and tackling climate change
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon emphasized on 4 September the need for more global cooperation, particularly in accelerating progress in education, poverty eradication and sustainable development, as leaders of the Group of 20 met in St. Petersburg, Russia to discuss pressing global issues. He stressed for countries to continue focusing on achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. Mr Ban also noted the need to take action on climate change by increasing commitments to low-carbon energy systems and green industries.
