MDG Gap Task Force Report 2013: The Challenge We Face
The MDG Gap Task Force released on 19 September its annual report for 2013, "The Global Partnership for Development: The Challenge We Face." For the first time since 1997, official development assistance fell for a second year in a row; more developing countries are in need of debt restructuring; and essential medicines are still not affordable and insufficiently available in many countries. The report makes recommendations for market access, debt sustainability, and new technologies among other sectors.

The MDG Gap Task Force was created by the Secretary-General in May 2007 to improve monitoring of global commitments for MDG 8, the Global Partnership for Development. The Task Force consists of more than 30 United Nations entities and other international agencies. The report is published annually in September and available in the six official UN languages.
